A new completion date has been set for affordable homes by the Bridgewater Canal in Stretford, Trafford.
We're building 40 shared ownership homes at the former Royal Canal Works site, off Edge Lane, which are now due to open in spring 2026.
We've been working through some unexpected delays on site with the contractor to agree the new date.
The development will provide canal-side living with one and two-bedroom apartments on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal and in the heart of the Stretford town centre regeneration area.
Jonathan Turner, Southway Housing Trust’s Assistant Director of Development said: “Demand for these homes is high so it’s disappointing that we’ve not been not to be able to complete them sooner.
“We’ve been working very closely with the contractor to resolve some unexpected contract delays and are pleased to confirm that we’ve now agreed to complete the homes in spring 2026.”
Homes are being sold via our sales and management partner Gecko Homes and were due for completion at the end of 2024.
