Come along to this weekly walk at Abbey Hey & Gorton!

Starting Wednesday 15th May, this is a resident-led, one-hour community walk which will take place every Wednesday between 11am – 12pm every Wednesday.

Aimed at building a healthy walking habit for all ages, the walk is a gentle paced 1-2 mile loop where everybody is welcome!

You can pop along for a one-off walk, or speak to the Walk Ambassador about how to join the Whatsapp group, how to get free jackets and how to register for a quarterly free lunch!

Already we’ve been hearing about the positive impact this walking group has been having, encouraging people to build a healthy habit, make friends and feel more confident exploring their local area.

The walk will be starting at the Gorton Central Community Centre (Highmead Street, M18 8PE) at 11am. We hope to see you there!

This walking group is supported by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Ageing in Place Pathfinder project, which puts older people’s voices at the heart of change and making their neighbourhoods a better place to grow older.

We believe that together we can build strong and supportive communities, prioritising health and wellbeing into later life. That’s why we’ve partnered with this project, helping communities to thrive by ensuring everyone has a voice.
