Southway Housing Trust understands the negative impact Anti-Social Behaviour can have if it is left unchallenged. We work with the local authority, the Police, and the community to effectively tackle and prevent ASB in our communities.
If you report ASB to us we will treat your complaint seriously, respectfully and anonymously if you wish. We will investigate and work to ensure that you are kept up to date on what is happening with your report.
We’ve reviewed our policy with tenants help so we have a much more effective approach.
As part of this, we now use a categorised system when prioritising different types of incidents of ASB, Category One and Category two.
Category one incidents are responded to within one working day. These include:
- Physical violence, threats of physical violence or significant harm
- Domestic Abuse
- Hate Related Incidents
- Safeguarding where an adult or child are not able to protect themselves from abuse or neglect, include Cuckooing.
- Drug manufacturing / dealing.
Category Two incidents are responded to within three working days and include:
- Verbal abuse
- Use or supply of any illegal substance.
- Excessive noise e.g., music.
- Dumping rubbish.
- Not keeping your animals under control.
- Offensive drunkenness
- Shouting and arguing.
Housing officers work with Southway’s ASB co-ordinators on more complex cases where more formal interventions may be required.
Dog fouling, parking issues and general household noise are now treated as neighbourhood or environmental issues so we’re handling them in a more appropriate way to provide the best possible service to tenants.
