Southway is inviting tenants who live on the Arrowfield estate to join an exciting new project to help them get the most out of their Daikin heat pump.
Greater Manchester has secured funding for innovative tech projects across the city region, aimed at cutting carbon emissions and improving residents’ quality of life.
The funding will be invested by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and partners in the Greater Manchester City Region and will connect hundreds of existing air source heat pumps across some of Greater Manchester’s social housing, using a mobile network and Smart Energy Grids.
A Smart Energy Grid uses technology and software to improve performance, manage demand and supports a lower carbon future. These grids will deliver benefits for residents, industry and public services including reducing costs for residents and housing providers while cutting harmful emissions.
Southway is one of GMCA's partners in the scheme and tenants on the Arrowfield estate can benefit from the project if they have had a Daikin air source heat pump project.
To be a part of the Project, a small wireless device (router) will be installed in your home near to your Heat Pump by Robert Heath Heating Ltd. This will mean that the Heat Pump will be connected to the network, and data can be collected and used to improve its performance.
You can find out more about the project by watching this video.
The data gathered as part of this trial will be used to monitor energy consumption and Heat Pump Performance information which will be fed back to both the Heat Pump manufacturer (Daikin) and your Southway Housing Trust. No personal data will be shared as part of this Project unless explicitly stated. Please review the privacy notice which can be found at the link below.
