With Care housing is exclusively for people aged 55 or over. Most schemes have restaurants, cafes or sometimes shops or salons that are open to everyone in the local area. In addition, there is often a shared lounge or activity room solely for the use of residents and usually a mix of one and two bedroom properties. With care housing is also likely to have a substantial communal garden area that can be enjoyed by residents and their family or friends.
Help is available 24 hours a day, for those who need it. Not all residents need help with daily living, therefore it is not to be mistaken for a care home. With Care is somewhere people can live independently for as long as it is suitable and is a good option for couples who would like to stay living together, where only one or maybe both people need support. The schemes are designed to provide homes for people so they can live freely in the community and have the security and support of a care facility.

We have recently opened two new With Care schemes, Gorton Mill House and Dahlia House, both with low carbon, Age Friendly one and two bedroom apartments for social rent for people aged 55 and over.
We are particularly interested in applications from people who require some level of care or support.
If you are interested in any of these schemes, please contact the Age-Friendly Delivery Team on 0161 448 4200 or email AFApplications@southwayhousing.co.uk.
